Story by Michael Friday

Consumed by social media's allure, a queer teenager purchases an expensive facemask in hopes of achieving perfect skin. Just days away from his NYC internship, he faces challenges with his older brother, and his best friend visits for reinforcements.

Through its exploration of self-esteem, sibling dynamics, and digital culture, "Blemished" promises to engage audiences of all ages.

This project started with an ad for a screenplay. Michael Friday, a recent high school grad from Orlando, Florida, responded, and his submission matched the themes that drive my narrative interests. I resonate with the struggles of navigating self-esteem and identity in a world dominated by digital perceptions and unrealistic beauty standards.

"Blemished" reveals human insecurities through a teen's struggle with acne. It delves into family dynamics, focusing on two brothers, played by Michael Friday and Aaron Allen, along with a childhood friend, played by Karisma Garcia. Collaborating with writer/producer Sam Hankins, we developed "Blemished." Together with the actors, we explored self-esteem in this digital age.
